Recommended natural methods
Baking soda
In the machine: add 1 cup to the detergent drawer.
Soaking: 3–4 tbsp in hot water, soak for 1 hour.
White vinegar
In a basin: 2 to 3 cups in hot water, soak for several hours.
In the machine: 1 glass directly in the drum.
Lemon
Juice of 2 lemons + hot water + 1 tbsp baking soda. Soak overnight.
Marseille soap
Rub yellowed areas with moistened soap, let sit for 1 hour, rinse, then wash.
Hydrogen peroxide (100% white laundry only)
Dilute half water, half hydrogen peroxide. Soak for 1 hour, rinse thoroughly.
Important precautions
- Avoid routine use of bleach (it weakens fibers and can cause yellowing again).
- Respect the maximum temperature on the label (e.g., 90°C for cotton).
- Always test a small area before soaking completely.
Preventing laundry from yellowing
